Best Fine Dining Restaurants in Tokyo 2026
Early list, not yet ranked by diners · 3 votes so far
Tokyo's fine dining list is mostly French in training, with a few detours. Sézanne cooks French classics at the Four Seasons in Marunouchi, now under Stephen Lancaster. Florilège at Azabudai Hills puts plant based and vegetarian mains up front at a single long table. L'Effervescence frames its French menu with the tea ceremony. Quintessence, three stars in Shinagawa, gives Shuzo Kishida a menu card with deliberate white spaces. Crony begins with tea and pours from a cellar of over 2,000 references.
The detours are worth taking. MAZ in Kioicho lists dishes by the altitude of their Peruvian ingredients. EWIG in Minamiaoyama cooks Austrian food on Viennese china. RyuGin and Kagurazaka Ishikawa are Japanese, both at three stars, the first with a fugu only menu from January to March, the second serving Niigata rice in earthen bowls.
Booking ahead is the rule rather than the exception at all of them. This is an early list, opening for diner votes, and positions cannot be bought.
