Best Restaurants in Aoyama & Shibuya 2026

Early list, not yet ranked by diners · 3 votes so far

The list spreads across Jingumae, Minamiaoyama, Hiro and Shibuya. Four hold Michelin stars. Den, two stars in Jingumae, is the warmest room of them, a team that greets with smiles and a monaka of miso and foie gras. Narisawa, two stars in Minamiaoyama, turns rural Japan into a menu. Sassa, one star in Hiro, brings a sushi chef's touch to kaiseki. EWIG, one star in Minamiaoyama, is the only Austrian restaurant on any Tokyo list here, with classical music and Viennese china.

The rest are everyday Tokyo at its most exact. Maisen Aoyama works out of an old bathhouse by Omotesando, where the kurobuta cutlet gives way under chopsticks and the katsu sando goes out in boxes. Narukiyo runs an izakaya below street level in Shibuya, where the counter is the seat to book.

Whatever the budget, these are places to plan around rather than drop into. This is an early list, opening for diner votes, and positions cannot be bought.
