  • Quintessence is where philosophy meets flavor. The tasting menu defies repetition; every dish is a reinterpretation of nature’s logic. Chef Shuzo Kishida’s cooking isn’t just French—it’s elemental. The attention to temperature, texture, and timing borders on spiritual. Service is formal yet warm, creating a space where silence feels natural. A visit here changes the way you think about balance and simplicity. It’s not about luxury—it’s about purity, expressed through precision. Dining here is to witness mastery without ego.

  • 3 Michelin stars for many years, almost impossible to book a table for two, so we gathered another couple for a table for four. no photos allowed, so everyone should focus on the food, but photos allowed inside private room and what should they focus on? no menu for food, no wine list. omakase style French cuisine. The wine pairing 6 glasses was expensive and minimal in quantity. Good match with food. I am not sure if they sell anything buy the bottle, but please ask about the price before ordering. 12 dishes, food focuses on local ingredients, most of the dishes were with spice infused oil. The timing for preparing of ingredients were precise, well prepared but the seasoning was a bit heavy for my taste. Desserts were very good. service was okay, but interestingly the servings of the dishes of all guests wasn't at the same time, and they didn't fold the napkin when you left the table for bathroom. If you can book a table to try once then okay. If you can't then that's okay too.

  • Quintessence holds a special place in my heart. I first came here with my mom and dad back in 2014—an unforgettable experience. Revisiting now with my wife, it’s still absolutely perfect. The quality, precision, and spirit of the cuisine remain on the same exceptional level. Here’s a photo from our first visit in 2014—a beautiful memory that continues to live on through each dish.

  • Visited a few months ago, but it’s easy to remember the fun time and delicious food we had there. Def the best French cuisine in Tokyo. Worth visiting at least once in your life. We were allowed to take photos in a private room.
