  • Im not really a Ramen fan but this one I liked. I ordered the Sinigang inspired one (forgot what it's called) and it's good. Broth is not too thick and has the right asim. Noodles are also firm which complements the soup. I didn't like the chashu (not a fan also) because the taba is too naka umay. But overall the dish is good. My family ordered the following - tantanmen - daughter liked it, on the spicy side - Billy's Billy's- good, broth is also not thick which is good - Rice bowl - meat was too chunky for my son, but taste is good - gyoza - juicy and flavorful - karaoke- pieces were big - crunchy eggplant- was disappointed with this one since I saw raving reviews. It's ok. The toppings and sauce were yummy, but the eggplant pieces were too big for my taste Service is great, staff was able to handle the guests timely. They were so able to manage the people waiting outside well Ambiance is excellent. It has an LU vibe going in the Alley. I think it's a great place for younger people with friends. Our bill came out at 4k. So around 1k per head. No drinks ordered, 3 ramens, 3 sides and 1 ricebowl.

  • A lovely dining experience and arguably one of the best ramen in the Metro. The highlight of my meal is surprisingly the crispy eggplant dish which is a pleasantly spicy ensemble coated in a sweet and savory glaze. The eggplant has a lovely, creamy texture once you finally go through that crispiness. It’s best paired with a lot of acidity, so make sure to request some additional lime. I had a miso ramen which was moderately creamy, balanced, and had a bit of a nice bitterness after. The meat had a nice smokiness to it which I loved.

  • I tried the Tan Tantrum ramen, and it was delicious! It was packed with umami, generous beef pieces, and a rich sesame flavor. The serving was huge that I couldn’t even finish it, but I can definitely say it was good. My only wish is that it came with a bit more soup because the broth was really enjoyable. We also ordered two side dishes. The fried eggplant was surprisingly good. It was prepared almost like a maruya, and you could barely tell it was eggplant. The karaage was okay, but nothing particularly memorable. I also got to try a bit of my friend’s order, and that was good as well.

  • I honestly was initially skeptical about seeing a ramen place in the PH receiving a Bib Gourmand - but boy oh boy, how wrong I was to assume! Friend and I got Billy's Belly (in photo), crunchy eggplant, and Aburacadabra (not in photo). A principle of mine when trying a new ramen place is to get its most basic or original recipe to assess the quality of its base. First sip of the broth and I said, might be nothing special. Then I had it with the noodles? Instantly regretted my words. The ramen was the perfect balance -- Goldilocks' "just right" bowl. Ingredients in harmony, not one element overpowering another, and no greasy or heavy feeling even after finishing the bowl. I now understand the appeal - it's a basic bowl of ramen, made really well. The crunchy eggplant also deserves all the rave! Loved the eggplant in itself with the meat and the onions. The dry noodles were also so pleasant to eat, surprisingly complementary despite all ingredients having distinct flavors. I got so impressed, that it reminded me of the now-closed Wrong Ramen (which I think was also in Karrivin and BGC), only to find out that the previous geniuses behind it also helped design The Underbelly. No doubt that I will visit again to try more of their menu!
