Metiz 2.0 is truly astounding. I first came last year before their renovation and was already impressed and happy with my time here. This trip, I decided to return with some friends and glad I did. Every dish was a standout and were flavours that I really enjoyed. Well balanced and left me wanting more. I would like to highlight how hospitable they were as well. Especially the chef who was serving us at the pass. She truly showed us great Filipino hospitality and we couldn't be more happier with our choice to return tonight. The decor and interior after the renovation looks great too. Definitely prefer this new interior. Looking forward to my return already.
5.0Jason Lau· 3 months agoSuch a good experience in Metiz! We had their ala carte menu and ordered 2 apps, soup, fried rice, and their pork tomahawk. Their cocktails were also interesting and service was great as well. One of the best places i’ve tried in manila so far. Will be back to try their tasting menu.
5.0Rella Denisse Gloria· 2 months agoFirst, I’d like to emphasize how their art extends to their cocktails. I have never been to a restaurant with such beautiful and delicious cocktail pairings. That itself deserves a five-star rating, in my opinion. Second, their unique and delectable menu is a love letter to local Filipino dishes and ingredients, and it made me love and appreciate our country’s culinary diversity more. Plus, the way they source their ingredients, as shared to us, empowers the small businesses and humble farmers in various Philippine provinces. I wish more businesses do the same thing. Third, fermentation is at the center of their craft and they are so good at translating that not only through food but also through the interiors of the restaurant. I enjoyed guessing the contents of each jar/bottle! Lastly, unlike other restaurants of their kind, I find Metiz to have a more warm and casual vibe to it. It was easy to ask questions, make requests, and even have a conversation with the owner as if he’s a good friend of ours. ✨ If you’re looking for an authentic tasting menu with excellent cocktail pairings, Metiz is the best place for it. 👌🏼
5.0Marielle Baun· a month agoWe celebrated a birthday at Metiz with the tasting menu — already booked by my partner before we arrived, which made the evening feel considered before it even began. The food was thoughtful and comforting, clearly made with intention. Our standouts were the Ensaladang Gulay, Peanut Squash with Kasuy Nilupak, Salinas, Lapu Lapu, Fried Rice, and the Fermented Puto with Coco Jam — Filipino comfort reframed without losing what makes it feel like home. Service, though, was where the night lost some of its warmth. The front of house made the most effort to engage, but questions weren’t always fully answered. Several other staff members barely acknowledged guests — no greetings, minimal interaction, just watching from a distance. In a room with only about six diners, that distance becomes hard to miss. What made it more noticeable is that the setting had everything it needed to feel intimate — and the opportunity was right there. A hello. A quick check-in. A moment of light conversation. Even the executive and head chefs were present that evening, and yet that presence never quite reached the table. In a restaurant this size, on a night this quiet, that’s a missed chance for something memorable. At this kind of dining experience, the room should feel like being welcomed into someone’s space, not just seated in it. The concept is meaningful, and the kitchen is doing something real. With hospitality that matches what’s already on the plate, this could be something worth returning to. Still very grateful for the opportunity to have dined at Metiz. Wishing the team well.
