Best Cafes in Lombok

Lombok's café culture grew up around surfers and long stay travellers, so the coffee is better than you might expect and the bowls are generous. In Kuta Lombok, Bush Radio bakes its own sourdough inside an industrial warehouse and makes most of the menu from scratch, with the veggie burger among its best known plates. Kenza, the bright white building on the main intersection, feeds salty surfers scrambled tofu bowls and sourdough toast, and has air conditioning, still rare in town. Milk Espresso brews Expat Roasters beans in an Aussie style room.

Out of town, Folk Cafe sits on a hill above Pantai Lancing on the road to Selong Belanak, with specialty coffee, banana bread and strawberry matcha, and no wifi at all.

On Gili Trawangan, Kayu Cafe & Boulangerie pairs an organic bakery with a healthy café near the harbour, and The Shack mixes jungle and beach shack looks with clearly marked vegan dishes. This is an early list, opening for diner votes, and positions cannot be bought.
