Top Places in Selong Belanak
Five addresses for the south west beaches, and between them they cover a whole day of eating. Folk Cafe comes on the way in, on a hill above Pantai Lancing, with strawberry matcha, peanut noodles and smoothie bowls, and a view that explains why nobody misses the wifi. Laut Biru, the driftwood and blue floored restaurant at Sempiak Seaside Resort, is right on the sand, with Indonesian, Asian and international plates, and the odd monkey in the garden. Codium is the big table. It sits in front of Tampah Hills and cooks over open fire with a Mediterranean slant, with specials that follow the catch, counter seats facing the chefs and a pool with loungers that stretches lunch out. Then drinks and dumplings. Klub Kembali, in a joglo over a century old, builds cocktails on arak and Indonesian spices, and serves Indonesian plates with a modern twist. Three Sisters Dumpling Bar, down a backstreet lit with fairy lights, does jian bing, wontons in broth and dessert wontons.
