This original branch feels much more spacious than the one in Central, which makes the whole meal feel a lot less rushed. Arriving at 1pm on a weekday and getting seated right away was also a nice surprise. Most of the dim sum ordered was very well made, nicely seasoned, and tasted fresh. To be picky, the beef meatballs were smaller than expected, and the spring roll wrappers felt a little stale. Still those were minor issues in what was otherwise a very solid meal, especially given the reasonable prices. One thing worth nothing is the washroom. Since it's unisex, it felt a bit messy and could probably do with more frequent cleaning. Aside from that, this is still a dependable spot for good dim sum.
4.0Logan S. Y· 2 months agoI don’t really understand the ratings that this place gets as the dim sum is just outstanding!! Their baked bbq pork buns are unbelievably puff balls of perfection! I’ve had some great buns in the past but these are the best I’ve ever had! The siu mai and haw gau are superb and the spinach dumplings are incredible with perfect translucent skin. We were awed by the food here and it is certainly worthy of the Michelin recognition. For seven dishes plus tea we paid $213 Hong Kong or about $16 usd!!! This is a bargain with quality and superb flavor!! The staff are a bit surly but very efficient. We got there at 10:10 am they opened at 10 and there was no wait. Food came quickly and tables were neat and clean. The restrooms were a mess with water everywhere but we’re coming back!!!!
5.0DYJ1948· 9 months agoIt was a solid choice for dim sum, however the past history of Michelin recommendation may left us with high expectations for the restaurant. I didn’t take photos of all the food we ate. Some of the dishes I probably would not get again if we come back. Minor note would be that the cutlery and tableware are melamine which isn’t ideal.
