Tip top…… What an experience!! For a unagi lover, is a big yes!! And please make reservation if you dont want to wait for a long queue. You can come to queue at 5pm to avoid long queue. If you’re a big eater, you can choose the highest set menu
5.0Reynard Shah· 5 months ago9/1/26 - 3.5 stars This place is very famous as a traditional family run unagi restaurant in Tokyo, so, we had high expectations. It's hidden within an unassuming slender house in the midst of the big city and, inside, the decor transports you back in time. The staff are helpful and dressed in theme. However. The food was disappointing. It was not bad, but, definitely not worthy of its fame and price. Evidently, this place is famous overseas as there are multi language menus which may explain the prices. Eel jelly appetiser: A, 7/10. Pretty interesting texture and mild savoury flavour but not that good. Shirayaki: A, 7/10. To be fair, I haven't had an exceptional shirayaki yet but this was just like all the others. Chawanmushi: S, 8.5/10. Decently flavourful. Pretty creamy. Unaju Flavour: S+, 8.5/10. Definitely good but not exceptional. Texture: S+, 8.5/10.
3.0Ronnyeatsout· 7 months agoThis is the ultimate experience for Tokyo style Unagi dining. I've 200 years of history and experience in perfecting the celebration of all things Unagi. I highly recommend starting with kimo-kushi lightly dusted with sansho, and then moving on to the unaju of your choice. The suimono is so flavorful and bright, and they serve a delicious hojicha as well.
5.0Stephen Sumner· 4 months agoWe came without a reservation and were happy to be accommodated. The atmosphere felt a bit stifled—perhaps due to an older guest nearby who seemed rather stoic, which somewhat influenced my experience. The service was friendly throughout. The food was good, but while I enjoy unagi, neither the taste nor the overall experience left a lasting impression. I did like the interior; the traditional style and furniture gave the restaurant an authentic feel. Overall, a decent visit but not one that stands out in memory.
