The beef wagyu noodle was soooo flavourful, I would’ve enjoyed more of the rice noodles in one portion tho. The soup was soooo flavourful rich and savoury and delicious! The watermelon slush was very refreshing and the mango sticky rice was the best I’ve ever had! The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the crispy pork skin but my friend really liked it. Overall, great to come to with a friend, I’d say it suits a party of 2 the best.
5.0Jade M· 3 months agoVisited this famously crowded spot on a rainy day, but left really disappointed. The signature noodle soup had a strange, off-putting flavour and was overly salty. A thick layer of fried pork rinds floated on top; I could not eat them at all. Prices are ridiculously high for what you get. Considering the mediocre setting and poor taste, you are far better off heading to the Southeast Asian restaurants on Spring Garden Street opposite.
3.0Lun Z· a month agoTL;DR: So nice I tried it twice! Great food, quick service, lovely staff, good price. For me the Beef fried rice and lychee lemongrass juice were the highlights. Go! ——— Stumbled upon it on my first evening in Wan Chai – little did I realise all my HK friends had recommended it too. Sat by the bar, by the pass and got the turmeric squid and beef fried rice and was shook at how good it tasted. Staff were lovely and the chef on the pass next to me was chatting away. To my joy, they actually recognised me on Thursday night! Got the famous beef boat soup noodles and crab fried rice. Again seriously good – the layering of flavour and aromas in the soup is insanely good. I’m decent with spice but even adding the chilli dips it wasn’t too hot. Seriously recommend this place.
5.0Nick Perret-Green· 4 months agoSamsen delivers an absolutely fantastic dining experience! The food is consistently incredible—fresh, deeply flavorful, and beautifully prepared. You can taste the care in every single bite. Equally impressive is the service: the staff is warm, attentive, and genuinely knowledgeable, making you feel right at home from the moment you sit down. A perfect blend of outstanding food and top-tier hospitality. I’ll definitely be back!
