Best Japanese Restaurants in Central 2026
Early list, not yet ranked by diners · 0 votes so far
Central's Japanese list is mostly counters, and each one asks something different of you. Sushi Shikon asks for patience and no strong perfume: eight seats at an old hinoki counter, three Michelin stars held for over a decade, aged fish and double uni sushi from head chef Satoshi Tada. Nagamoto asks you to trust the season. There is one omakase on On Lan Street, ten to thirteen kaiseki courses that move with shun, and black abalone or Ise lobster if you ask.
Torikaze asks for less ceremony. Its motto is one skewer, one lifetime, the charcoal is Kishu binchotan, the chicken is local three yellow, and the shorter menu brings oyakodon or chicken broth somen.
The Aubrey asks only that you stay for another drink. It is an izakaya and cocktail bar on the 25th floor of Mandarin Oriental, hung with more than 120 pieces of Japonisme art, with robata wagyu and Kobe beef, Edomae sushi and shochu cocktails. This is an early list, opening for diner votes, and positions cannot be bought.
