Ordered the curry beef brisket tendon with e-fu noodles. First time trying curry flavoured beef tendon noodles. Really, really amazing. Meat was tender and the tendon parts weren’t too tough. Only issue is the small portion size, but the flavours are incredible. Small store, will definitely need to share tables.
5.0Justin Yiu· 2 months agoThis was honestly one of the worst dining experiences we have ever had in our entire life. We tried Kau Kee in Central, Hong Kong, and after this experience, we will NEVER, EVER come back again. We ordered the Beef Brisket with Flat Noodles in Broth and the Beef Brisket with Flat Noodles in Curry. Unfortunately, both were extremely disappointing. The beef was so tough and rubbery that it was almost impossible to chew or eat. We have never experienced beef with this kind of texture before. It was genuinely awful. What made the experience even worse was the overall cleanliness and hygiene of the restaurant. The kitchen area looked very dirty, and honestly, the whole place gave us a very unpleasant and unhygienic impression. We were shocked that food of this quality and in these conditions could be served to customers. We could barely eat our food and ended up leaving disappointed. The food quality, beef texture, cleanliness, and overall experience were far below what we expected. We genuinely don’t understand how this kind of food can be served to customers. Absolutely NOT recommended. Never again. Save your money, save your appetite, and save yourself the disappointment.
1.0Luri Balluri· a month agoThis old school street food is an important part of HK food culture that must be preserved in all ways possible. It is situated along a stairway between two buildings. It looks like a make shift tentage with foldable tables and simple stools, but this set up has been its permanent structure from day one. The tomato, egg, luncheon meat and ham, instant noodle soup is an "instant" classic. It represents HK comfort food at its finest. This dish can only be found in HK. It's simple and yet delicious and tummy satisfying. Paired with a warm cup of traditional milk tea, it is a meal fit for both princes and paupers alike. Anyone can enjoy this with little fanfare. Just a great way to start one's morning. It will be remembered for a very long time.
5.0Wilson Tan· 4 months agoWent with a friend who is a regular. Service was pretty and not rude at all. The special beef brisket is very soft and good but is limited thus can run out. The normal brisket is ok but not the softest. Clear broth is very good and beefy. Curry sauce is very strong and has a kick. Quite heavy in my opinion. Pretty good and worth a try. All the criticism is unwarranted.
