Honky Tonk Tavern brings a slice of Nashville to Hong Kong with bold flavors, Southern comfort, and a lively, no-holds-barred atmosphere. The cocktails are a real highlight, creative without trying too hard. The John Daly is smooth and refreshing with bourbon and berry tea, while the Smokey Bandid goes bigger with mezcal, pisco, and a surprisingly balanced mix of cherry, watermelon, and salted strawberry-dill. Frida keeps things bright with Aperol, mezcal, and peach, softened by popcorn tea, and Spritzy Boyyy is light and easy with guava, citrus, and bubbles. Even the richer drinks feel well thought out, Honey Trap leans savory with tomato and cucumber, and Sunlover blends mango, coconut, and white chocolate without going overboard. The classics hold their own too. Mucho Danger delivers a clean hit of jalapeño tequila and mezcal heat, Peaches is crisp with yuzu and rhubarb, and No Way José mixes tequila, umeshu, and hibiscus into something floral but grounded. The rotating slushee is a fun touch and worth trying. Food-wise, it’s just as solid. The Nashville hot chicken packs real heat, the thin-crust pizzas are reliable crowd-pleasers, and the Smashed Burger Sundays are a standout, juicy patties with smoky char, American cheese, pickles, house sauce, and onions on a toasted sesame bun. Overall, a great spot if you’re after strong drinks, satisfying food, and a fun, high-energy night out.
5.0Adrian Forkwithadrian· 5 months agoBuffalo wings are great, blue cheese is great but chicken tenders are a bit chewy. Not in a mood for alcohol today so opt for a non alcoholic one, I'm so glad I ordered😃 But our table, actually the whole place could smell the oil fumes of the cooking food, not very nice for the lungs🫣 could install a way better kitchen hood. 4.0Chan Cheuk Him· 6 months agoThis is my favourite bar in HK. Whilst it’s got more of an international vibe, it is still busy with locals giving authenticity. The team here are incredibly nice and the service is always very good. If you like a good happy hour with a generous menu, this offers wine, beer and some cocktails. Speaking of cocktails… they know how to do a great spicy margarita here. I like them spicy spicy (like the lovely team leader/manager) and they don’t disappoint. Food wise, they often do fusion nights with local cuisines and restaurants which takes a cool twist on American food mixed with whatever the theme is. The fixed menu here is great too, the burgers are top drawer. See you in May. Please stop by if you’re in Hong Kong.
