We booked a terrace table for 5:00pm so we could watch the sunset, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our time in Canggu. I'd reached out via WhatsApp beforehand to secure a terrace booking, and the communication was fantastic from the very beginning. quick, friendly and incredibly helpful. When we arrived, the team welcomed us so warmly and gave us what genuinely felt like the best table in the restaurant, right by the beach with an uninterrupted view of the sunset. It couldn't have been more perfect. A special thank you to Are who looked after us all evening. He was funny, attentive and made the whole experience feel really personal. When he asked what we were celebrating, we jokingly said, "Life!" Later he surprised us with a complimentary sticky date pudding that had "Happy Life" written on the plate. It was such a thoughtful touch and something we'll genuinely remember. The food was excellent. we shared the tomato salad, enjoyed a chilled Pinot Noir and a cold beer, and everything was beautifully prepared. Combined with the incredible sunset, the atmosphere and the outstanding service, it made for a perfect evening. This restaurant came highly recommended to us as a must-do in Canggu, and after our experience I completely understand why. Absolutely deserving of five stars. We can't wait to come back.
5.0Alistair Thompson Brown· a month agoWe visited Skool Kitchen Canggu in January 2026 to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and although this review comes a little late, the experience is still fresh in our minds. Due to the weather, we moved tables 4 times during the evening. While some might find this frustrating, we embraced it as part of the experience, getting to enjoy different settings, from outdoors to indoors, and eventually settling at the bar. That final move was the highlight. The bar team, especially Budi (Jack), Agung Krishna, and Deva Diantara made us feel incredibly welcome. Their warmth and genuine conversations turned dinner into something much more memorable. The food was excellent overall. The Kingfish Tartare and Grilled Octopus were great starters. For mains, the Wagyu Ribeye MB6/7 was good (7/10), while the Argentinian Red Prawns stood out at 9/10. The wood-fired gnocchi and grilled tomatoes were both delicious (9/10). If you are looking for well-executed food, a great atmosphere, and truly outstanding service, Skool Kitchen is well worth a visit. Even months later, we are still talking about the experience and we have just booked our August trip to Bali, hoping to visit Skool. Looking forward to seeing you all again!
5.0Andrew Tam· 5 months agoA very impressive place in terms of value for money and ambiance. Since I went without a reservation, I sat at the bar, but watching the open kitchen was a great experience. The organic chicken and its sauce were incredibly delicious. The only thing I’d say is that the chicken could probably have been served without the foot attached. :)
5.0Buse Şarkan· 3 months agoI visited the Skool kitchen 3 years ago and now again this year. The menu stayed more or less the same while the presentation and details changed a bit. For me the changes were mostly negative. The Octopus wasn’t as fresh as last time and the sauce as well as little chips on top didn’t hit the spot like last time. Same with the chicken. The taste was overall really delicious however the little details like the corn didn’t make sense to me and felt out of place. The highlight was definitely the gnocchi for us. Excellent in taste and still the same as three years ago. Service was good however also here the quality dropped slightly. Based on the price and the alternatives I wouldn’t visit the Skool kitchen again.
