The whole experience was simply amazing. We entered and were seated close to the bar, although it was beautiful and very interesting when they brought out the first course we were surprised thinking is this where we are going to eat? And then our hostess came and said I have a surprise for you and wow she was not joking. I can honestly say from the first minute we arrived we were impressed to the last minute that we left. There were 16 dishes and truly there was no bad dish. 13 were just like an explosion of thought and taste and only three were just good. The whole concept and the architecture of the building is so beautifully thought through. I can honestly say again it was the best fine dining restaurant we’ve done and we’ve done a good few. So thank you to the amazing team who made our honeymoon even more special. 🙏🏼
5.0The Improvement Clinic· 3 months agoGreat food experience. Was good to try out local produce. Fine dining with an Indonesian twist. Best negroni I have ever tasted. Only suggestion I would make is for the staff to explain the food more slowly as there were lots of new ingredients unique to Indonesia that I have not encountered before. Loved the experience in a amazing setting. Beautiful building. Great art. Lovely clean clear lines and lighting was amazing. Noticed there were never any sign of panic in the kitchen. Felt like great zen. People took their time with the presentation and it showed as in my pictures
5.0Stephan Lombard· 3 weeks agoWe almost cancelled this reservation. Plans shifted. in Bali, the timing stopped making sense, and we'd pretty much made peace with skipping it. Then the restaurant followed up to ask if we were still coming. We took that as a sign and made it work. SO Glad we did! Dinner here starts before you sit down. In almost a guided tour fashion, the staff explains what the concept is about. You walk through the property, into a room where mushrooms and roots are growing around you, then into the main dining hall, and later out to the open air. By the second room we'd forgotten about our phones. About the food. I'd read reviews before going that called it too earthy, more concept than flavor. That is not what we ate. Course after course had real depth to it, flavors layered on flavors, and a few dishes I was still thinking about the next morning. Our favorites were the lamb and octopus dishes. Don't miss out on those if you can. The staff though. That's the part I keep telling people about. Between us we had a few dietary restrictions and preferences, and somehow every person on the floor knew them. Per person, not per table. A server we hadn't met yet would arrive with a course and already know exactly which plate went to who. No idea how they brief each other back there, but it worked every single time. Photos below, and they still undersell it.
5.0Karim El-Rashidi· 4 weeks agoWe had the absolute pleasure of celebrating my husbands 40th birthday at Locavore NXT, and from start to finish it was one of the most incredible dining experiences we've ever had. Every aspect was exceptional—the food, the venue, the service, the atmosphere, and the accommodation. We stayed in the beautiful wood cabin on site, which made the experience even more special and allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in everything Locavore NXT has to offer. One of the highlights was moving through different areas of the venue as the evening progressed, with different courses served in unique locations. We began by watching the sunset over the rice fields before continuing through the stunning restaurant. The architecture and design of the entire venue are absolutely incredible, and every space had its own atmosphere and added something different to the experience. The tasting menu was made up of lots of beautifully crafted small courses, which meant we were able to try such a huge variety of flavours, ingredients and dishes throughout the evening. We also chose the wine pairing and cocktail pairing, both of which were fantastic and thoughtfully matched with the food. After dinner, we continued the celebrations at Night Rooster cocktail bar in Ubud for a post-dinner drink, which was the perfect way to finish husband 40th birthday night. Because we were staying on site, the experience continued the following morning with a private breakfast followed by a behind-the-scenes tour of the restaurant. It was such a great addition to the stay and gave us an even greater appreciation for the thought, creativity and passion that goes into everything they do. Communication before our visit was incredibly easy and prompt, and every member of staff we encountered was friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about what they do. It really felt as though the staff loved where they worked, and that enthusiasm came through in the service and the whole experience. Locavore NXT is so much more than just a restaurant. The combination of the food, architecture, setting, service, accommodation and the way the entire evening unfolds makes it a truly unique experience. It was an incredibly memorable way to celebrate a 40th birthday and easily one of the highlights of our time in Bali. We couldn't recommend it highly enough. Thank you to all the staff for making this truely a memorable experience x
