We celebrated both our engagement and my fiancée’s 30th birthday with the 7-course tasting menu, and it was an unforgettable experience. The service was outstanding, and every member of the staff was incredibly warm and welcoming. Despite the fine dining atmosphere, we felt completely at home throughout the evening. Each course was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious, showcasing great attention to detail and exceptional craftsmanship. After dinner, we enjoyed a drink at the adjoining bar, where some of the staff even joined us after their shift and kindly treated us to a whisky. It was such a thoughtful gesture that truly reflected the genuine kindness of the people working there. Wonderful people with their hearts in the right place. Thank you for an amazing evening. we will cherish these memories for a long time.
5.0Fabris· 2 months agoWe don't need Micheline to tell is this is fine dining at its best. We celebrated my wife's 60th birthday here and it was a triumph. Apéritif was just a short walk from the Kamandalu Hotel where we were staying, and it was the obvious choice for her celebration after a short visit that day. Our expectations were exceeded on all counts. My wife teared up at least twice during the 3-hour-long event. While the atmosphere was exceptional, the food and service were the stars of the evening. Everyone from the friendly and knowledgeable sommelier to our main waiter, Boi (whose enthusiasm, charm, and knowledge of ingredients and preparation of each dish), was first class. This may have been the best meal/experience I have had since eating at the Twin Towers Restaurant in NY in 1997. Don't let the straightforward titles like: Tuna, Heirloom Tomato, etc. fool you. These are highly complex dishes; each one sending you on its own journey while maintaining an elegant intertwined cohesiveness. One last note about the Speak Easy bar where we were served two delicious cocktails; don't skip it! Bravo to all the staff and wake up Micheline!
5.0Michael Hoffman· 3 weeks agoWe had the privilege of dining at Aperitif earlier this week during our stay in Ubud. Boy was our waiter and took exceptional care of us, explaining each dish with precision and care to enhance the culinary journey. We were introduced to multiple team members throughout who were all very attentive, polite and showed passion for what they were doing. Each dish we were served was aesthetically accurate in its plating, and elevated by a careful selected wine pairing. The Riesling paired with the crab risotto was the course that particularly stood out for us! The etiquette of the table side service was a unique touch with the welcome cocktail and bread service. The open kitchen was particularly fascinating, with a numerous chefs piecing each dish together with such a light temperament. The location of the restaurant adds to the more westernised style, away from the more fast paced streets of Ubud.
5.0Bethany Masih· a month agoI ate here to celebrate our wedding anniversary with my partner and selected its three-course menu. First, we were served with the canapés. The corn meringue was amazing. For the entree, I tried beef carpaccio with bone marrow emulsion and my partner tried king prawn with cashew and fermented honey. Her king prawn was much better than my carpaccio. As a main course, I had aged duck with black tamarind consommé. It was amazing, particularly the consommé. My partner had the dorper lamb, which was also really good and had a strong Indonesian cuisine vibe. We had a nice sorbet as pallet cleanser and finally we had desserts. I had klappertaart with coconut ice cream. It was very good. Overall, it was a nice experience. Our server, Rani was very helpful and informative. The manager, Thomas also greeted us and had a nice little chat with us. The venue was beautiful, inspired by the 1920s Dutch colonial era, and filled with some jazz music. Considering the price that we paid, it’s a 5/5 experience.
