  • Believe the hype—this is one of the rare places that truly earns it. Easily one of my best dining experiences I’ve ever had, and somewhere I already can’t wait to return to. Arriving early, we were fully accommodated downstairs with a refreshing house made kombucha before being elevated upstairs to our table. We were lucky enough to sit on the glass enclosed balcony, and as night fell, the atmosphere transformed. The surrounding historic buildings, with their beautifully aged character, only added to the storytelling and sense of place. Reading Chef Pam’s heartfelt postcard-style menu, written to thank her great-grandparents, sets the tone beautifully, giving real depth and meaning to the experience. It’s personal, emotional, and genuinely moving—an unforgettable introduction. Every dish that followed was exceptional. Each course delivered bold, refined flavours and a level of creativity that kept surprising me throughout. Plate after plate, it was pure enjoyment—thoughtful, expressive cooking that never missed the mark. Selina, our server, elevated the experience even further. She brought each dish to life with genuine warmth and insight, making us feel completely looked after without ever being intrusive—a rare balance. After dinner, we headed upstairs for a few cocktails with Chris the barman, which was the perfect way to round off the night—relaxed, atmospheric, and just as thoughtfully executed as the meal itself. I loved this experience so much that we’re already planning to return in a few days to try the Opium Bar. This is an absolute must-visit, and with the menu constantly evolving, it’s a place you’ll want to come back to again and again.

  • One of the best fine dining experiences I’ve had in a long time, and for sure in my Bangkok top 5. Interestingly enough, it was at least as good than the three-star options in Bangkok. From the moment you enter, this place spells its magic on you. You can feel the 120-year heritage of both the building and the company - and the history as a Traditional Chinese Medicine pharmacy spills over into the menu and your experience. This is exactly what I’m looking for when doing local fine dining in Thailand. They capture the essence of Chinatown, the Thai-Chinese culture and ingredients beautifully. For the dishes, they all were great but we specifically loved the fantastic crispy duck as well as the Pad Thai and the Crab. Waited for a couple of years to get a table here and it was absolutely worth it!

  • One of the best fine dining restaurants in the world. Exquisite tastes, superb attention to detail and yet, quintessentially local. Warm and friendly service, not stuffy, every course was truly memorable. The whole dining experience was well curated - different ‘tools’ for each course.

  • I really understand (and appreciate) the concept and storyline at Potong — the “love letter” to the chef’s grandparents is a beautiful idea, and the level of technique and detail is clearly top-tier. That said, the food felt a bit plain to me. It’s Chinese cuisine with a light Thai touch, and while everything was executed with precision, the flavors were… fine. Just fine. For this price point, I was missing a real “wow” moment — something that stays with you, emotionally and on the palate. I also expected more presence from the famous chef herself. The narrative promises heart and heritage, but in the overall experience I didn’t fully feel that heart coming through. And while the opium bar is obviously a magnet, having bar guests walk through the restaurant disrupts the atmosphere — especially for diners who are paying a premium to enjoy the meal in peace. In the end, what stuck with me was strong marketing and a strong story — but not the food. And I wish it had been the other way around.
