Le Du actually comes from a Thai word “ฤดู”, a synonym for the word “season” in Thai.

Please do NOT believe the bad reviews, this meal was the best meal we’ve had in a couple of years and we’ve eaten at Noma in Copenhagen, Osteria Francescana in Modena and St Peters in Sydney, to name a few. Yes it is super expensive but any restaurant that makes the 50 Best Restaurants in the World List is always gonna be top dollar. From the first amuse bouche, I knew we were in for a treat. Every dish just got better with each course. If you’re a couple, treat yourself to the Signature River Prawn and the chef will cut it in half.. more than enough when you’re eating six courses and who would have thought of adding deep fried scrambled eggs as a garnish. Further to the amazing food, the service is impeccable, relaxed but professional with a sprinkling of humour. The ambience is modern with great air conditioning and very stylish lighting with a cool playlist. Honestly, the next time, we’re in Bangkok, we’ll be checking out the new menu and looking forward to eating here again. Treat yourself and book a table!
5.0Martin BQ· a month agoModern Thai cuisine. Le Du has been around for such a long time but somehow I’ve always missed it. This time, I was watching a Netflix programme on regional chefs and came across Le Du and Chef Ton and so we decided to visit. Loved the dishes we had that night. So innovative and different. I even tried the ant larvae and fried ants! And also the seasonal fish: Empurau. This fish was so expensive in Singapore and I’m so glad I’ve the opportunity to try it here in Le Du. Chef Ton was present that night and doing his rounds in the restaurant. Such a friendly guy and I’m honoured to have met him. Loved the desserts too; they looked quite simple but yet so delicious. Will definitely be back when they change the menu in about 3 months time. The price was quite reasonable for an ex Number 1 in the Top 50 Asian restaurants ranking.
5.0HC L· 6 months agoBest meal of our lives. Seriously. Celebrated our 20 year anniversary at Le Du last night and it could not have been more perfect. We selected the 6 course with pairing wines and added on a river prawn. The food was absolutely delicious and worthy of the Michelin star. The staff were extremely friendly and clearly love their jobs. The highlights for me were the chicken spring roll (amouse bouche) and the meatball with ice-cream. Who would ever think to pair the 2? We advised when we were seated it was our 20 year wedding anniversary and they kindly served us a special dessert. The tea to take home was a nice unexpected touch. They also let us select where we wanted to sit (8:30pm sitting; Thursday) and definitely did not rush us. It was a wonderful experience and I’m so glad I didn’t listen to the negative Google reviews. It is a lot of food and we have not eaten much today!
5.0Tracey Phillips· 6 months agoWe had dinner at Le Du, a 1 Michelin star restaurant, and it was honestly such a pleasant surprise. They offer a choice between a 4 or 6 course menu. From past experiences, tasting menus can sometimes feel a bit light, so we didn’t expect too much in terms of variety. But this one really surprised us. There were quite a lot of choices, and even the amuse bouche came in multiple bites. Portions were also more generous than expected, which made the whole experience feel satisfying from start to finish. The restaurant is tucked away in a cozy neighborhood, which gives it a more intimate and relaxed vibe. One standout for us was the river prawn. It’s not included in the set menu, so you do need to order it separately, but it was absolutely worth it. It’s a classic dish here and something you really shouldn’t miss. One of the dishes was topped with ants and ant eggs, which was something completely new for me. It sounds unusual, but it actually worked really well and added a unique texture and flavor. Definitely something different and memorable. Service was excellent throughout, attentive without being too much. They also offer wine pairing, which complements the dishes nicely. Overall, we really loved the mood and ambience, it felt special but still very comfortable at the same time.
