I made a reservation for one person at 8:15 PM and arrived a little early, but the staff were kind enough to seat me before my reserved time. The ambience was lovely. There was upbeat music playing, but it wasn't too loud, making it easy to enjoy a conversation. The dim lighting also gave the restaurant a warm and cosy atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing dinner. For my meal, I ordered the sate tofu, rendang terong, nasi merah, and finished with the Beng Beng cheesecake for dessert. I never expected tofu and eggplant to taste that good! Both dishes were incredibly flavourful and beautifully prepared. The highlight of the evening, however, was definitely the Beng Beng cheesecake. It was rich, indulgent, and absolutely delicious. I was tempted to order a second serving, and honestly, I would happily return just for that dessert alone. The 20-minute Gojek ride from Seminyak was absolutely worth it. A wonderful dining experience, and I'd definitely recommend Ulekan to anyone looking for delicious Indonesian cuisine in a beautiful setting.
5.0Eqa Roslee· 2 months agoMust try for authentic Balinese cuisine with good quality ingredients. Great drinks and cocktail selection as well. We ordered Beef Rendang, BBQ Pork Belly, Nasi Goreng, curry chicken. Meat was super tender, flavour explodes in your mouth. Super mouthwatering and will definitely bring friends here! Highly recommend~
5.0Aloysious· a month agoI had one of the best meals I’ve had in Bali at Ulekan. The restaurant serves a great variety of Balinese cuisine, and everything we tried was delicious in its own way. We had the rendang sapi, urap-urap, nasi kuning, pepes ikan, and a prawn spring roll (I can’t remember the name on the menu). Everything paired really well with the nasi kuning. A special shoutout to the rendang sapi, which was incredibly tender and flavourful. I also really enjoyed the prawn spring roll — surprisingly crispy on the outside while remaining tender and juicy inside. For dessert, we had the kueh dardar, which was just as enjoyable. The soft, pandan-flavoured skin with sweet grated coconut made for a lovely combination. Definitely a place I’d recommend to anyone visiting Bali, especially if you want to try a good variety of Balinese dishes!
5.0Hong Wei· a month agoEasily one of our favourite meals in Bali. The wood-roasted chicken was the absolute star—a dish we’ll be talking about for a long time! The atmosphere was gorgeous, the Pinot Noir was excellent, and we left very full and very happy. An all-round fabulous dining experience.
